Today we remember and celebrate the most significant event in history; the day Jesus Christ conquered death and rose from the grave! What we celebrate today is what makes Christianity different from all other religions. Jesus died and then came back to life; and that is something no other religion can say about the one they worship!
Though on Good Friday, Jesus endured one of the most gruesome deaths imaginable, the grave couldn’t hold him. And when Jesus rose, he rose victorious over sin and death! He paid the price for your sin and mine in full, and he made eternal life with him possible!
I hope you know that no other good news could top that! This was good news for Jesus’ followers in the 1st century, and its good news for you and me today. The chasm that once separated us from the God who loves us has been bridged because of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection! That is news that needs to be celebrated and news that needs to be shared!
The very first people who found out Jesus had risen from the dead were told to go and share the good news with the disciples. And before he ascended to the Father, Jesus told his disciples to go and share the good news with the whole world!
So, celebrate what Jesus has accomplished for you today! But don’t stop there. Share with someone else what Jesus has accomplished for them too! After all, “He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.” (1 John 2:2)
