Our Contract With God
Have you ever used a credit card? Or signed up to get a loan or credit? If so, you know you sign a contract with the company saying that when you borrow the money, you will pay it back, with interest of course. There is this trust agreement that both parties will keep their end of the agreement. And, of course, if you renege, there are consequences.
Wedding vows are also like that. They are a contract between two people and society, or at least the government, which authenticates that it is legal and binding. Both parties are held to the contract by the law of the land. It gives us confidence in our commitments and makes us determined to keep our end up.
Did you know that God has made a contract with you? He has offered his end of the agreement and waits for you to sign and agree to your end. Thus making it binding. Without both parties, God is not bound to give His blessings. In Exodus 19:5 God said, “If you obey me fully and keep my covenant (contract) ten you will be my treasured possession”. The contract is held together by that little word “IF”. Have you signed that contract with God, with your life?
