Jesus’ teachings on what God desires of us and for us are awesome.
It amazes me when I get a glimpse of understanding of what God intended from the very beginning. Jesus’ statement of the greatest commandments (Matt. 22:37-39, see also Luke 10:27, Deut. 6:5, 10:12, 30:6, Lev. 19:8) is one such moment overflowing with wisdom and comfort, knowing that we have a creator God who loves us. But should I be amazed? After all, these are the “greatest commandments”. God wants us to return His love and he wants us to love (by caring for) one another. Of all the things in God’s great creation, number 2 is that we love (by caring for) one another.
Truly. there is no other God like our God!
