God’s Plan vs. Our Plan

The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps.(Proverbs 16:9)

We’re good at planning out how we want our lives to go, aren’t we? But those plans rarely work out the way we thought they would. Maybe there was a time in your life when you thought you knew exactly what
the next year would look like, the next 10, the next 30, the next 50. You had a plan! Did it work out exactly like you planned it?

My guess is, probably not. It seems to be a fact of life that no matter how much we plan, things don’t usually turn out exactly like we thought they would. Life happens, things change, and we have to alter our plan.
One reason for this is that our plans are often different from God’s.

Solomon, the wisest man to ever live, knew this. He knew that no matter what plans we make for ourselves, it is ultimately God who establishes our steps, God who makes the final call on the direction our lives
take. That’s good news because God’s plan is perfect!

Pastor Greg Laurie said it like this. “God’s plans for you are better than any plans you have for yourself. So don’t be afraid of God’s will, even if it’s different from yours.”
